The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through cleaning.
It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt, pet hair, and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and performs well, but this is something you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will affect how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's important to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. It has the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan map which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able capture some of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was starting or finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.
Unfortunately robot vacuums uk means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.
